Lecture Topics Outline Each week we will cover a selection of literature ranging from fictional short stories to poetry to drama.

Students will be asked to read the assigned works, discuss their impressions (answering prompts and questions), and complete a 2-3 page MLA formatted Response Paper based on the weekly readings and discussions; these Response Papers count for half the entire grade for the semester, so they need to be taken seriously and submitted on time.

Between the poetry and drama units, there will be a research project, including a paper, presentation of findings, and peer review activity.

We will read a play and discuss and study elements of drama.

There is no final exam in the course. Your grade is based on the average of your combined response essays, unit tests, and research activities.
